COMING TO CORNING, NEW YORK
TAD'S PLACE AUTISM CENTER
After years of waiting for help, families worldwide, and especially those of the Twin Tiers of New York will soon have their own center for autistics. I'm opening a center, called Tad's Place, with the first phase to open in 2009! This will be a one of kind in the realm of autism centers. It will actually become an entire campus designed to be a family respite and education spot. Several buildings will be on the campus. The first to go up in 2009 will be a prototype center. Tad's Place Daycare will be a full center for kids ages 2 1/2 to 21! But best of all, Tad's Place will be designed to work therapies, deal with food allergies and nutrition issues and be totally structured to continue working on the issues that plague autistics. Tad's Place will be a total autism zone, where the children will feel at home and comfortable from a sensory standpoint.
But that's not all! Once we're up and running I'm taking 2 next steps that will benefit anyone worldwide that struggles with autism:
1) We'll be building the Tad's Place Diagnostic and Medical Facility. This will be a place where parents can get quicker appointments to have a child tested, not only for autism and autism spectrum disorders, but for environmental toxins and gut-related disorders that the newest research is finding are often are at the center of autism and autistic type behaviors. It is at the medical center that parents can be trained to do the SCD (Elaine Gotschall's Specific Carbohydrate Diet) for their families and begin the detox process right here on the campus during a stay at the second step in the building expansion.
2) The rest of the campus will include a specialized hotel suited to the needs of families with autism and a fabulous restaurant that serves nothing but choices from the SCD, so your family can jump start the program together. While you're detoxing and learning about the diet and some specific sensory therapies you can continue yourself at home, kids will be entertained with a variety of on campus activities. The therapy center will be available to autistics, while camp type activities will entertain other siblings. Mom and Dad get education at the therapy center and pampering time at our full facility spa. But wait, there's more! A top notch team of psychologists and even clergy will be on campus to assist the family in dealing with the devastating affects autism has inflicted on them. Marriages can become stronger; relationships with children and among siblings will grow and visitors to the campus can begin the process of working their way towards total wholeness. Also on the campus will be a water park in season and winter time fun. Our on site theatre will show family movies designed for total family fun and closeness. Pricing will be arranged in such a way that many medical costs may be covered by insurances and the hotel stay will have package deals to include movies and center/camp activities for the kids.
I'm working feverishly and putting together a fine team of experts in their fields to build the various buildings and programs Tad's Place will offer. I like to think of it as the ultimate center for families afflicted with autism! Wellness and education with a hotel specially designed for autistics and their families. I'm so excited to be building something this earth-shaking in the field of autism! My hope as we ourselves try the SCD is that we'll see amazing things happening for the kids. I've read many amazing reports of autism, seizures and out of control behaviors just disappearing as the kids follow the diet. More importantly, many families with autistics may be suffering gut-related problems and not even know it! At the medical center every member of the family will be checked out to see how we can best benefit the entire family.
Think about it, isn't this what you've secretly been hoping for? A wonderful vacation destination that will provide dramatic help for your autistic while supporting a fun atmosphere for the rest of the family? Corning is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York. We offer many outside tourist destinations you can enjoy while you're here. Corning's Museum of Glass will probably be your first stop. We also have the Rockwell Western Museum, Harris Hill (the soaring capital of the world with gliders) and we can't forget the lovely Finger Lakes with day cruises and wineries to explore. On the way you can visit Watkins Glen or even spend a day at the races! There's plenty to do in and around Tad's Place, so I'm sure everyone will enjoy the trip!
So, keep checking back to see what's happening with the opening of this wonderful center. As we get closer to the opening, this site will be upgraded to provide pricing, insurance information and a complete services listing as well as travel arrangements. The Lesso family wants you to know we understand your family in a very personal way and our mission at Tad's Place is to create a family environment for health, wellness and healing for autistics everywhere!
